Your chances

against these criteria.

How it chooses when it has more applicants than places, in order:

  1. Places go to pupils in SEAG Bands 1 to 6 in strict order, plus accepted Special Circumstances or Special Provisions cases judged comparable.
  2. Applicants who list St Joseph’s Grammar School as their first preference post-primary school.
  3. Applicants who have a sibling or half sibling enrolled at the school at the time of application.
  4. Pupils who are the eldest child of the family eligible to apply for a mainstream school (alternative to criterion 3, joined by Or).
  5. Remaining applicants ranked in descending age order, eldest first, from the birth certificate.
