SEAGReady ("we", "us", or "our") helps Northern Ireland families prepare for the SEAG Transfer Test. We take particular care with information about the children who use it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have.
You can try a gap check before creating an account. We store your child's school year, the subject, their answers and, if you give it, their first name against a random code saved in your browser. If you do not create an account, these results are deleted automatically after 7 days, unless you ask us to email them to you.
On the free gap check and free mock results you can ask us to email the results to you. We then keep your email address, the results and when you asked. We send the results once. If Paper 1 is less than two months away, we also send one reminder three days before it, unless you create an account first. Each email has a link to unsubscribe. We only send tips and offers if you tick the box for them. If you do not create an account, we delete your email address and these results 60 days after Paper 2.
Your list of post-primary schools and the answers you give to "Check your chances" (your child's primary school, which schools any older brothers or sisters attend, whether they are your eldest child and whether they get free school meals) stay in your browser. They reach your account only if you save your list, so we can show it on your other devices and send the reminders you ask for. Saving an empty list deletes them.
If you search by postcode, we send it through our server to a location provider. Your browser uses the returned location to work out distances.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We keep a record of your Stripe customer reference, your plan, your trial dates and whether your subscription is active, so we know which features to unlock.

Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Each provider also has its own privacy policy.
We use analytics only to understand how SEAGReady is used so we can improve it for families. It is on unless you turn it off below. We use PostHog EU Cloud to measure page visits and selected steps such as attempting to start a gap check, requesting an emailed start link, opening checkout and completing practice. On selected public pages, we count coarse scroll depths and when the page is left. Gap check and mock questions and results are excluded from these engagement counts. We also collect sanitized browser failures to find and fix technical problems. These contain an error category, application code locations and safe request references, without the original error text. PostHog uses random browser and session identifiers in browser storage. After sign-in, we link this activity to the parent account’s opaque account identifier. Recognised campaign and referring-site categories help us understand how visitors find us.
We do not record sessions, capture typed content, or send child names, child identifiers, school years, answers, assessment levels, gap counts or email addresses to analytics. Page addresses have query strings removed and private record identifiers replaced with route placeholders. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits and journey steps, and Speed Insights measures page performance, under the same analytics setting.
You can turn analytics off at any time, free of charge, using the button below. Turning it off stops new collection and clears analytics identifiers and acquisition details held in this browser. Requests already in progress may finish sending; turning it off does not delete historical analytics. Essential sign-in, assessments and learning storage continue to work either way.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks or social media tracking pixels.

When you start a trial or pay, you are taken to Stripe's secure checkout page, which uses its own cookies for security and fraud prevention. We do not use advertising cookies.
SEAGReady is designed for children aged 9 to 11 (Primary 6 and 7). We take their privacy seriously:
Free gap check results that are not added to an account are deleted automatically after 7 days, or 60 days after Paper 2 if you asked us to email them to you. Account, child and learning data is kept while your account is active so your child's progress is not lost. You can ask us to delete your account and your child's data at any time by emailing us. Stripe keeps payment records as required by its own legal obligations.
