Your chances

against these criteria.

How it chooses when it has more applicants than places, in order:

  1. Candidates resident in Northern Ireland at the time of proposed admission are selected before any candidate not so resident.
  2. The first 120 of 135 places go by rank order of SEAG Total Standardised Age Score (including special circumstances/provisions); equal scores at 120th place all admitted, using 2.2.i to 2.2.v if needed.
  3. A pool of around 25 next-highest TSAS candidates is formed; remaining places are allocated from the pool by the sub-criteria below.
  4. Sub-criterion 2.2.i: enrolled in the College Preparatory Department at the date of application.
  5. Sub-criterion 2.2.ii: a Child of the Family enrolled in the Secondary Department, or accepted for next year.
  6. Sub-criterion 2.2.iii: a Child Looked After.
  7. Sub-criterion 2.2.iv: another Child of the Family at, or accepted to, another single-sex post-primary school.
  8. Sub-criterion 2.2.v: attends a recognised feeder primary, ranked by average pupils transferred over three years (top 25 listed).
  9. Tie-breaker: computer-based random ranking number seeded by the candidate's name; lowest numbers admitted first.
